providers and management

Ron J. Guevara DO

After graduating from the University of North Texas Health Science Center in Fort Worth,Texas I came to Corpus Christi to do my residency in Family Medicine at Bay Area Hospital. Upon completion of the program and serving as Chief Resident my final year I started my practice in Calallen. I spent 10 years operating an urgent care family practice clinic. During that time I have discovered that people appreciate being treated not like patients but like family. This philosophy comes from my own up bringing my school and training and from the lessons I’ve learned raising my own family. My wife Valerie and I are the very proud and lucky parents of Madelyn 8 years old and Nathan 6 years old. Their love, patience and understanding have allowed us to care for a group of people from our community and people who live as far away as New Mexico and Colorado.  People who I am proud to say call me their doctor. My association with Future Focus and Dr. Curtis has created and atmosphere in which my style of practicing medicine, I feel mirrors my own.  This association will provide patients with an opportunity to find health care providers that offer a high quality of service.  As a Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.) my own up bringing, my schooling and training, and from the lessons I've learned raising my own family, have instilled a holistic approach to treating patients.  This combined with Dr. Curtis’ philosophy of  treating will give patients a unique opportunity to be cared for by physicians and supportory staff that will treat you like more than a patient.  It will give you the opportunity to be treated like family.

Things you may not know:  I am a huge Spurs fan and Duke University Basketball fan. My I pod has music ranging from Weird Al to Paul Potts, Chuck Berry to AC/DC and Glen Campbell to Toby Keith.  I am a huge Star Wars geek. As a high school basketball player I competed against a future NBA All-Star and one of the 50 greatest players in NBA history. You’ll have to ask to find out who.
