William G. Curtis; MD

Leading the Future Focus team, founder and medical director, Dr. Curtis is a Corpus Christi native and 1990 Calallen High School graduate.  Earning and running on a track and field scholarship, Dr. Curtis completed his Bachelors degree in Biology in 1994 from Baylor University. He began his medical career at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, completing his Medical Doctorate in 1999.  Wanting to pursue a well rounded specialty, he completed a 3 year residency in Family Practice at the Corpus Christi Family Practice Residency program.  During his training he emphasized and sought special rotations in emergency medicine, preventative care, dermatology and plastic surgery.  He was awarded the prestigious Victor C. Calma Award in 2000.  This annual award is given to the top intern in the CCFPRP, a testament to his medical, interpersonal, and leadership skills.  Upon completion of specialty training, Dr. Curtis entered private practice and ultimately helped guide his management and staff into what today makes up Future Focus Family Medicine.

Currently Dr. Curtis also leads and blogs routinely on the website.  This website serves as a resource for all the Future Focus branches, providing up to date information on health, wellness, and lifestyle topics.

(More on background on Dr. Curtis)

Ron J. Guevara; DO

After graduating from the University of North Texas Health Science Center in Fort Worth,Texas I came to Corpus Christi to do my residency in Family Medicine at Bay Area Hospital. Upon completion of the program and serving as Chief Resident my final year I started my practice in Calallen. I spent 10 years operating an urgent care family practice clinic. During that time I have discovered that people appreciate being treated not like patients but like family. This philosophy comes from my own up bringing my school and training and from the lessons I’ve learned raising my own family.

My association with Future Focus and Dr. Curtis has created and atmosphere in which my style of practicing medicine, I feel mirrors my own.  This association will provide patients with an opportunity to find health care providers that offer a high quality of service.  As a Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.) my own up bringing, my schooling and training, and from the lessons I’ve learned raising my own family, have instilled a holistic approach to treating patients.  This combined with Dr. Curtis’ philosophy of  treating will give patients a unique opportunity to be cared for by physicians and supportory staff that will treat you like more than a patient.  It will give you the opportunity to be treated like family.

Things you may not know:  I am a huge Spurs fan and Duke University Basketball fan. My I pod has music ranging from Weird Al to Paul Potts, Chuck Berry to AC/DC and Glen Campbell to Toby Keith.  I am a huge Star Wars geek. As a high school basketball player I competed against a future NBA All-Star and one of the 50 greatest players in NBA history. You’ll have to ask to find out who.
